Slept
in late this morning, after such a big day yesterday, I must of needed
the extra sleep! Roomie & I went to breakfast & some of the
other girls were already there. This morning I ordered the mixed omelet
along with my regular fruit platter, juice & Bali kopi.
After
breakfast a few of us took a walk along the beach. A few times now
I've seen a gentleman walking 2 -3 dogs on the beach early morning.
This morning I saw him come out of a private entrance, from memory near
the Jayakarta, and this time there were 3 different dogs. It made me
wonder whether this gentlemen had a heap of dogs, or was he looking
after strays. Either way, I thought to myself.... 'what a wonderful
place to live'....
Coming
back from our walk, Roomie & I decided to have some pool time at
the pool closest to the beachfront while it was still quiet. I was
trying to stay in the 'here & now' and enjoy the sun while it
lasted.... in a few days we'd be back home & apparently it was
cold....
We stayed around the pool until it was time for me to get ready for my tarot card reading at 11am. I walked down Jl Werkudara towards Oregano Greek & Grill. Guru Shashi does his readings above the restaurant. As I was a little early I had a look in a silver shop on the other side of the road just down a little. I found a lovely dragonfly pendant that matched the earrings I bought from Silverberry. Most of the stock I had looked at in Silverberry was also in this shop. I checked a few prices & they were the same. Silverberry was set out much nicer though.
Then it was time for my reading. I had no idea what to expect. Went inside and Guru asked me to sit down. I was asked what troubles in my life did I have at present. I was really struggling to find any as life is really good for me at the moment - touch wood! Anyway, as I thought a little more about it, there were a few questions that would be nice to be answered, not really problems as such. We got through about 5 questions in the hour & I guess time will only tell whether the answers come into fruition or not. It wasn't what I expected - he asked the question to the 'universe' then shuffled the tarot cards, drawing out only one card, then gave the answer to the question from the tarot card. It was just not the same as readings I've had back home where a lot of information is given.
After my reading I headed back to the hotel in search of the girls. It was lunchtime so I checked to see if any of them were at Hitana. There were a few there, so I sat down with a cold Bintang & ordered a chicken caesar salad.
Discussing what to do after lunch, a few of the girls were keen to find some Nike & Vans shoes for their kids, so I decided to tag along, happy to browse in some of the shops. I found a nice strapless black dress with beading detail & Roomie also found a nice dress. From memory they were 110K each.
I'd had enough after about an hour, so I left the girls still in search of shoes & headed back to the hotel. Dumping my bags I changed & went to the pool near reception. I spent the next hour enjoying my book in the sun & even managed a little sleep before some of the girls turned up. We all had a swim in the pool and giggled like school children taking underwater group shots. It was so much fun & I haven't laughed so much in ages!
In the late afternoon, Roomie & headed for the beach for a sunset drink. We sat directly in front of our hotel the Puri Raja & ordered a Bintang from one of the little beach bars - this was the same fellow I hired the surfboard from a few days ago.
I wish we had done this every afternoon..... such a lovely place to be at the end of the day!
There was a new hotel being built behind Seaside Restaurant & the construction was still going while we were eating dinner.
At about 9pm the workers knocked off. They all piled in the back of a truck & waved goodbye to us!
With full bellies, it was time to walk back along the beachfront path to the hotel. A few of us went back to our rooms & had a few duty free drinks. Roomie & I both bought gin & we hadn't even drank half the bottle yet.... we decided to offer the bottles to my driver friend Wayan if we didn't finish them. Off to bed now, our last day tomorrow :(

A couple of beers were enough & we headed back to the hotel to shower before dinner. Tonight we walked the beachfront path & decided on Seaside again. We'd all enjoyed our meals there last time & Roomie missed out as she wasn't well.
Tonight I realised I hadn't yet ordered one of my favorite cocktails - a Mojito! Was a bit disappointed with it here - it just didn't taste the same.... So then I was onto Bintangs again. I never drink this much beer back home!..... Don't know what it is about Bintangs in Bali - some of the girls are non beer drinkers & they were even enjoying them!
One of the girls said the rice paper rolls were really nice, so I ordered them for entree.... they were really good! For main this time I chose a Mexican dish - the Chiminchanga. It was a huge meal & quite nice, but being deep fried, it got a bit too much.
